Belgian Malinois from working lines
– bred with purpose

Kennel Belgerulven is a family-run kennel based in Sandnes, Norway.

We have been involved with Belgian Shepherds since 2001, and today our main focus is breeding Belgian Malinois from working lines.

Our experience with the breed goes far beyond breeding. Over the years, we have worked with dogs in obedience, search and rescue, IGP and military-related work.

These experiences have given us a broad understanding of the Belgian Malinois and the different qualities required from a working dog.

We have also spent many years travelling across Europe to meet breeders, study bloodlines, and experience dogs in training and competition within IGP, KNPV, French Ring and Belgian Ring – different disciplines and working traditions that have helped shape the Belgian Malinois as we know it today.

These experiences have also influenced our breeding program.

Over the years, we have bred dogs that are directly connected to these working disciplines, as well as dogs whose pedigrees carry bloodlines with strong roots in the different sports and working traditions.

This has given us the opportunity to work with and learn from a wide range of Belgian Malinois, each bringing different qualities and characteristics to the breed.

We believe that breeding should have a clear purpose and a long-term perspective.

We aim to breed Belgian Malinois with the qualities that make the breed such a unique working dog, while also producing dogs that can function well in everyday life.

We do not aim to be the right kennel for everyone. Instead, we focus on breeding the type of Malinois we believe in and would want to live and work with ourselves.

Every breeding we make is a combination we would consider keeping a puppy from ourselves.

Our puppies are placed in homes where they can develop their potential and become valued working and family companions.

Many of our puppy buyers are interested in IGP or other dog sports and working activities, while others are looking for an active and capable companion.

What matters most to us is that the owner understands the breed, is prepared to invest time in the dog and wants to build a long-term partnership.

Our relationship with a puppy buyer does not end when the puppy leaves our home.

We value staying in contact with our owners, following our dogs as they grow and being available for advice and support throughout the dog's life.

We simply want to breed the type of Malinois we believe in – with dedication, honesty and a long-term perspective.
